3 Days 2 Nights Overland Trip Labuan Bajo – Wae Rebo – Ruteng

Where to visit : Day 1

Day 1: Labuan Bajo – Ruteng – Overnight in Ruteng

Morning: Arrive in Labuan Bajo (via Komodo Airport). Private car and driver transfer to Ruteng (approx. 3.5–4 hours by road).

Afternoon: Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant near Ruteng town.

Evening: Visit Cancar Rice Fields (also known as the Spider Web Rice Fields) — a unique, photogenic rice field formation.

Night: Check-in at a local guesthouse or homestay in Ruteng.

Rest and enjoy the local ambiance.

Where to visit : Day 2

Day 2: Ruteng – Wae Rebo – Overnight in Wae Rebo
Early Morning (~06:00): Depart to Denge Village, the starting point for the Wae Rebo trek (approx. 4–5 hours drive).
Mid-morning (~10:00): Begin the trek from Denge to Wae Rebo (approx. 2.5–4 hours through forest and rocky paths).
Afternoon: Participate in the traditional welcome ceremony “Wae Lu’u” at the main Mbaru Niang house.
Late Afternoon: Explore the village, learn about traditional weaving, and enjoy sunset views from the mountains.
Evening: Overnight in the iconic Mbaru Niang (cone-shaped traditional house). Enjoy a warm local dinner and a peaceful evening — limited signal and electricity (lights off ~10:00 PM).

Pack light; porter services available from Denge (~Rp300,000)


Wear hiking shoes, bring a warm jacket, flashlight with spare batteries, and cash (no ATMs in the village)

Where to visit : Day 3

🚶‍♂ Day 3: Wae Rebo – Labuan Bajo via Ruteng
Early Morning: Wake up before sunrise for a spectacular mountain sunrise view.


Morning – Midday: Trek back down to Denge, have lunch, then begin return drive to Ruteng.

Afternoon: Short stop in Ruteng for light snacks or a visit to a local market.
Evening (~18:00): Return to Labuan Bajo (approx. 3.5–4 hours drive). Trip ends.

Entrance Fee to tourist object included in the trip as mentioned  in the itinerary. Any activities that not mention in the itinerary will be charged on personal account. 

Inclusive of meal ( lunch ) in this trip, to taste local cuisine at the local restaurant. Exclude of Alcohol beverages.

Refreshment such as mineral water is available during the trip.

What to bring :

Labuan Bajo has a tropical climate, so pack light, breathable clothing such as shorts, t-shirts, dresses, and skirts. Also, consider bringing a light sweater or shawl for cooler evenings or air-conditioned spaces

Labuan Bajo has a high UV index, so it’s crucial to protect your skin from the sun. Pack sunscreen with a high SPF, a wide-brimmed hat, sunglasses, and a lightweight, long-sleeved shirt for extra sun protection

Labuan Bajo is a tropical destination, and mosquitoes can be present, especially in the evenings. Bring a good quality insect repellent to protect yourself from mosquito bites.

Labuan Bajo offers a range of activities, from exploring temples and markets to hiking and beach walks. Pack comfortable walking shoes or sandals for these activities, as well as flip-flops or sandals for the beach

ATMs accepts credit cards in many places, it’s a good idea to have some cash on hand for small vendors, and places that may not accept cards. Consider bringing a mix of cash and cards for convenience
